Happy New Year Everybody!

Since it's the first day of the year, I thought we'd start off with something fun and a little wacky.  Following in the footsteps of my friend Edie Melson
who's done this on her blog from time to time, I found some holidays and weird, days for the month of January.  First, the month of January is
National Bath Safety Month
National Blood Donor Month
National Braille Literacy Month
National Hobby Month
Hot Tea Month
National Oatmeal Month
National Soup Month

Each day has its own celebration or recognition as well.

1 New Year's Day

3 Festival of Sleep Day

9 Play God Day
18 Martin Luther King Jr. Birthday, celebrated on the third Monday
18 Thesaurus Day
18 Winnie the Pooh Day -The Birthday of Winnie's author A.A. Milne
19 National Popcorn Day
20
National Buttercrunch Day
20
Penguin Awareness Day
21
National Hugging Day
21
Squirrel Appreciation Day
22
National Blonde Brownie Day
23
National Pie Day 23 Measure Your Feet Day
24
Beer Can Appreciation Day
25 Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day - last Monday of month
25 Opposite Day

I do wonder who made these up. Festival of Sleep Day sounds a bit odd to me. Restful, maybe, if you've been overworked recently but would it be any fun? And who do you share it with?  Bubble Bath Day does appeal.   What day sounds best and/or craziest to you?

Numbers 8 and 12 and 26. I'll be celebrating each of those!
